Ontario budget invests in highway infrastructure

The Ontario budget, released February 25, 2016, announced the provincial government is heavily investing in highway infrastructure across the province over the next 10 years.

Most regions across Ontario — within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) as well as rural and northern areas — will see a fair share of funding to build, repair and enhance critical infrastructure.

Feds confirm commitment to e-logs

The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) has announced that officials from the office of Transport Minister Marc Garneau have confirmed media reports suggesting the federal government is moving forward to replace current requirements for truck drivers to complete paper log books with a mandate that trucks be equipped with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) as the standard for monitoring, auditing and enforcing compliance with national hours of service regulations.
